Hi everyone. I bought a 2002 360 DA last August. I'm looking for a plastic sun cover that snaps over the RL70C chartplotter/radar. Raymarine can't get them. No luck on e-bay. Any thoughts? (Other than buying a new system??)

I bought one last year off e-bay. They don't up come very often. Just have to keep looking. I have also seen some off brand covers
on e-bay but never bought one I looked for about 8 months
befor finding the one I bought.

A precision sheet metal shop can make a cover out of aluminum.
You would have to give the exact measurements of the RL70C to
the shop. Then you could paint it any color you like. This
would be a lot cheaper than buying a new system. Just a thought...

If you need the measurements of the cover I can take mine to
work and have it measured on a CMM. I just bought a RL70CRC
a couple of weeks ago and it still sitting here on my desk waiting
for the holidays to be over and I can get back to the boat to
install it. I am replacing a RL70 (non-color).

Wow, that would be great if it's not too much trouble. I worry about the darn thing getting damaged. All the other sun covers are there, but the old owners "lost" that one. Thanks again!

I will take to work on Monday and post the measurments in the
next day or two. I am the lead machinist in a company shop
and will have no problem getting the measurements. Haviing
worked with metal all my life you should be able to have made
in a precision sheet metal shop for about 1 hour shop time.
The one I bought on e-bay was new in the plastic bag with
a price tag still on it for 12.95, I paid almost $30 for it. They
are hard to find.

Measuring my cover this is what I came up with.

The sides of the cover are tapered, so I will give the
dimension at the bottom where the bend needs to be.

The long side 8.650 inches

The short side 7.900 inches

The bend radius is .125 (1/8) inch

The depth of the cover is 1.625 (1 5/8) inches

I would think 1/16 thick aluminum would work fine.

Hope this helps....

Thanks Len!!!
I'll get this into a shop and hopefully it'll work. I'll let you know what happens with it. Thanks again!
