I’m looking for a rig to place on the Davits of a 50’ fly. I’d like a rib boat with twin 50s. Does any one know who makes such a rig and will the swim platform support it? Will this create too much drag for the stern of the fly? Thanks

The swim platform on a 51 FLY will only support around 800lbs so that would be way too much dingy for it. My 11’ center console dingy with 1 40hp weights around 750lbs.

art, a pair of 50's is going to weigh 500+ lbs and that doesn't include the controls, console, gas tanks, etc.

Better readjust your sights and start using google to save yourself some time.

Why do you think you need/want twins. 20+ years ago twins were needed for lots of reasons but mostly as a way to get home from long way away when one engine died or because a single didn't have enough low end torque to get a boat up on plane.

With today's outboards reliability is extremely high except for ethanol fuel issues which unless your twin engine boat has two tanks is no better than a single.

Also as mentioned a twin rib would likely be in the high 20 foot range and weight in the 3500 lb range which no 50' boat will be able to handle other than towing.

Guessing you would be wanting at most a 14' RIB for a 50' and that will stick out the sides of any Sea Ray, and be extremely tight on wider beamed boats in the low 50' range. A 14' RIB will probably max out at 70hp, now way to fit twins nor would you ever want to.

For a 50' boat that you want to put a tender on davits your likely looking at 12' to 13' max RIB.

You can tow any size, but towing is a pain and has huge risks.
