All,

Anyone heard of this before? When I put my boat in reverse while still moving ahead slowly, I get what is called reverse shutter and I was told this is normal. Can anyone confirm?

It feels like prop cavitation as the forward momentum is finally stops. when stopped and put the boat in reverse, this does not happen.

Thanks,

Dan

Yes.......it is caused by the props ventilating, or trying to run in a water void, for lack of a better way to describe it. The boat is moving forward, and the props need fresh water from the reverse side to get a bite. Until you get some aft motion, they will just sit there and churn in t he vacuum caused by the forward motion.
