Were planning on picking up our new to us boat some weekend in the next 3 weeks, located at Anchorage\East Shore Marine.

We are driving by car using a one way rental and will drop the car off on a Friday by 6 PM but will want to walk to dinner either from there or a little later depending on whether we get lunch or not. Looks like Montauk Hwy is about a half mile up the road. Are there any good restaurants within a mile from there?

Not looking for anything super fancy but don't usually go for chains and definitely no fast food.

If there are better places further away do any of them possibly deliver to Anchorage?

The other option is to keep the car until Sat AM but they don't open until 9 and that means it could be 10 before we get off the dock. If the weather is good we want to make the run all the way home Saturday, but its 6-7 hours in good conditions.

Congrats on the new boat! There are several CSR members that have their boats in the Anchorage. I am sure that one or more of them can give you some suggestions.

a quick look on my iPad map shows a few restaurants on Montauk Highway in the vacinity. Also, across the canal there is a restaurant at the MarineMax marina that I have eaten at. As I recall, the food was pretty good.

Once you get to Montauk Hwy, there is the Sea Haven restaurant (steak/seafood) to your right. Next door is Boston Market. Further east at the stop light is Lindenhurst Diner. I have eaten at all three of these locations. My aunt used to work at the Sea Haven...so I ate there often. But to be honest, I have not eaten there in over 5 years. I primarily live in Nassau County...but also have a house in Babylon Village.

If you go west on Montauk Hwy, the first restaurant is, The Cattlemen (steakhouse). I have never eaten here and to be honest, I didn't notice it until looking at Google Earth...LOL. Take that for what it is worth.

I have a slip in the Anchorage...if you have any questions, ask away. I will answer your questions the best I can. Congratulations on the boat purchase.

The Lindenhurst Diner is closed. They sold the property to a developer.

Cattleman's isn't Cattleman's anymore, it is a Hurricanes Grill & Wings. Not bad but not great and it would be a heck of a walk. Actually, everywhere will be a heck of a walk from there. Get yourself settled and call a taxi. Ask that they take you to Mamma's in Copiague. (pronounced KO-PEG). It's a five minute car ride. Then just call for a return when you are done. Won't cost all that much and you'll be very pleased with the food. Best Chicken Parmigiana on the island and the rest of the food is just as good. Very reasonable (most dishes around 20 - 22 dollars). You'll come back to LI just to go there again even if it takes 7 hours by boat.

Well thanks for the info, but we jumped on a time and weather window and picked up Friday AM, stopped in Montauk for the evening and got home Saturday PM. Other than low vis most of the trip all was well, and were happy the boat is home.
