Restoreing an 1980 SRV300 Weekender

Twin 255 Merc
I have been restoreing my Sea Ray now about tree years. I have both engines are completely new and run great (runners were redone also), all wires have been redone and most of the wood either replaced or redone. Went for a test run the other day all went well but seems to sit to high in the water. Both sides the exhaust is not in the water even the bottom side. Any ideas? Also does not have seats in it does any one have suggestions? Will post photos latter.

its hard to tell for sure. When you say runners are you talking about the stringers that the engines mount to? The only thing that really effects how a boat rides in the water is weight. If the wood in the boat was wet and you replaced it with dry wood the difference in weight could be significant. Post some pics. Maybe that would help. Before and after would be great.

I'd be more concerned if the boat sat low in the water. How full were the fuel and water tanks? My 390 sits with the exhaust outlets out of the water unless full of fuel and water and even then the water line just barely touches the exhaust outlets. As long as it rides well and sits level I'd be OK with it.

I'm surrounded by 80's SeaRays. Mine at 9500lbs, a 85 34' and a 83 27', all of them sit the same as you a describing. When my seats were off the boat the exhaust was a good inch or so above the water line. I'm with ddie on this one, you're not sitting low in the water, and I would bet you've lightened her up with the new motors and all the other things you've done add up to more weight loss.

I would love to see the photos when you have time to post them
