Totally new to the area--at Bohicket Marina at Seabrook.

Made a few trips on the ICW to Charleston to the City Marina.

Was looking for some restaurants along the way and surprised to not see many.

Charleston Crab house was on the cut but not much docking space at all.

Charleston is great....docked at the city docks and can't beat that but was hoping there would be something along the Edisto, Stony or somewhere else.....?

Want to get to some restaurants within an hour or so of Bohicket.

Anything?

Shem Creek has 3 restaurants that are top notch. Most of the time there is plenty of dock space available. Also across the Ashley river is a California Dreaming that has plenty of dock space but you have to avoid it at half tide or below.

Go towards Isle of Palms on the ICW. Stop at Morgans Grill at the IOP marina. Great place to go with plenty of dock space.

Your 450 is too big to dock at the Crab House in my opinion. The current is very quick and that dock is not a lot to brag about.

In that case break out the dinghy. Small boats rule on that dock!!! He can anchor in the cut that is just west of Crab House and the Wapoo bridge. That dock only holds two bowriders on a good day. The current moves very quickly thru there at high tide. The fast current moves that dock a good deal with a bowrider tied off. With a large boat that could provide an intersting experience.

Curiosity is killing the small boat guy. What is a real boat?

Spent Tuesday thru Sun morning at Bohicket and had a blast, but all the traveling was done to the city marina and hit the restaurants in town.

AW Shucks, Mercatto and Cypress. Streets were packed and couldn't get over all the nice views.

Left the city around 10 11 or 12 -- with night vision goggles and a couple of guys helping, it was a blast returning. Night time action is saweeeeeeet Came home via the ocean on Saturday night and other than getting soaked, that was really neat.

Running around in a 260 cc Everglades and that be a fun thing to tool around in.

Flew out of Johns Island Sunday afternoon and all we saw was more boats all over the place.

What a great place to boat. Great action.

Shem creek will be the next.....heard something about Red whatever for a restaurant there.
matt--how was the trip back from the B's?

Searay Paul.....the real and fun boat is that everglades--the let's begin the prayer chants before anything happens is a 68 Lazzara.

It's Uncle Buck and the everglades is Little Buck.....

Look forward to seeing you out there.

Don't worry about the size of the dock. I am able to dock there by tying up with the bow into the current and only using the spring cleat and mid-ship cleat. In this way half of the boat hangs off the end of the dock and you still leave room for one more boat behind you.
