Litle update im sorry I dont have any picture but will post more this weekend

I finish all the fiberglass empty the Gas tank and fil them with diesel it cost me alf price Yeah!!!!

I finaly start the engine last week on the bench and they start on the first 1\4 turn!! wow I was so exited my first impresion is how silent and smoke free are those oil burner. they have not been start since almost 2 yeard and no smoke at all I was amaze. I boost the engine with my Ford 7.3 power stroke. Both engine where running side by side but the Merc was strait pipe and the power stroke was 10 time more noisy

After that we call the tractor and install the engine they have fit right in my new support hole it take less than an houre to fit both in. Now ho boy the space to work in the boat is amazing I could fit my self between the engine, the side with and work on the transom or anywere witout problem. Only the space difference worth all my work but the best is to come

Next week I will finish to plug the engine electrical, fuel and maybe I could drop the beast in the water yehehe....and will take more picture

see ya

Ok tomorow is the big day I cross my finger if the weather is not to bad I will drop the baby in the water. All my original gauge work and engine start well inside the boat!
Only the emergency selenoid is not working and I have no clue why anyone have an ID?
The RPM gauge I switch it to 6 cyl and bingo it is ok. My only concern is maybe the sincronize for engine will not work any tips will be apreciate

I will post some pics later

Good luck.
The solenoid to parallel the batteries is probably bad. I had to replace mine last year. You can do a simple check with a multimeter to be sure you're getting voltage to it before you swap it out.

Seleniod was the problem I change it 25$ and is is perfect now

I drop the boat in the water and so far im realy impress the boat get on the plane as fast than with gasser. Top speed 40 mph about -4 mph slower than gasser no big deal for me. The cruising speed is better 3000 rpm im cruising 30-32 mph and the consuption seem very low I cruise so far 3 houre and my gauge about 1/8 inch from full. With the 7.3 same cruise time will be between 1/2 and 3/4. I also like the fact that I can cruise a lot lower speed before to loose the plane. If I want Im able to keep it on plane 2500 RPM at 20-21 MPH no tabs before my lowest was 25 MPH 2800 with a lot of tab.

On the noise side the boat is a bit more noise at idle and have some litle vibration but more silent on cruise.

so far im 200% satify

For the smell it is almost no smell and not any smoke even at cold start

im now a bit overprop because my WOT rpm is 3600 and 40mph full of fuel, alf of water 4 person on board and loaded with all my gear for the season now im in the search for 2 pair bravo 3 22 pitch. If someone want to change I have 4x24 set and 2x26 set to exchange or if someone have link to a shop who do exange

I have a 310Da that came stock with 4.2 D-Tronics. You will love them. The only prob is getting parts. Cummings has all the parts an most local cummings have no clue what up with that motor. let me know if i can help in any way. kevin

Nice to see im not alone with that baby any chance you know your WOT rpm and top speed?

So far it was easy to get all part needed from my mercruiser dealer. I try last years to have fuel filter from cumming but after 2 month wait I decide to ask merc and it take 2 day to have it.

I also find a guy in Italy who was an egineer for this engine at VMotory and he say any part could have been import alot cheaper direct from him

Just a litle tips the raw water pump impeller lists for $153.00 is a Jabsco #17018-0001 that can be purchase on line from WWW.pumpagents.com for $38.00

I nerve order from those guy but they seem to have most part cheaper

I just wondering how does your boat is connect to seawater from the Hull direct or from the stern drive? I connect mine to the stern drive but seem to climb in heat at WOT so im about to go true hull with 1 1\2 inch each engine and big strainer.

Also a mecanic guy here told me my engine room need bigger air intake than the stock one from sea ray did your come only with radar arch air intake or you have more?

thanks!

i added through hull intakes that fixed my over heat problems. no problem with air. 239-280-9264 call if you have any other problems. kevin

I will give my revew now after around 90 houre of use. This mod is the best ting I ever do I love the boat so much and never expect to be this satisfy. I would never ever buy a gasser after owning a diesel. The boat is very fast it is silent reliable no smell and the best of all.....the economy is really incredible. Im still amaze every time I travel. For example this year I fill it up when I drop it in the water 5 week ago. I did 14 hour and im still over the 3/4 full to compare the 454 I would be empty by now. I read many talk about 35-40% saving but in my case it is at least 70% saving and my cruise speed is lot faster.4

That's pretty amazing man. Very nice job. I'll tell you what though, I would hate to have to get to the outboard side of the starboard engine! It looks super tight!!

Here is my last last upgrade novakool r3803 3'5 cu.ft. It come with danfoss Compressor. I could do over a week on the batery with this one they are so efficient

I also add 2x solar panel 130 watt on the nose of the boat so now I could be out without electricity for ever and always full charge

That's great. Looks like a very clean install. Talk about range!! Fill it up and you can go practically anywhere.

Those diesels probably perform better than a pair of gas small blocks, and burn less fuel than one of them.

Can you supply a link to the solar panel???

Stephane -

Did you have to cut on the bottom as well to fit that from the original factory unit? I did some more measurements, and it seems that you'd have too?
