I have a Sea Ray 270 sundancer with two 4.3 Lts TBI mercruiser since 2000. After many problems I´m thinking to repower it with one Yanmar 6LPA with 315 HP
It´s that a good option and possible ? Any suggestions ? Thanks a lot.

There was a member here who repowered a larger vessel, but he replaced both gassers with Diesel engines. You may want to do a search for that post to learn more about what had to be done. It seemed to be quite an investment, but was practical for his purposes. The retrofit was not insignificant. I will let others with more knowledge comment on the one diesel for two gassers aspect of your question.

I cant offer much more than if you do have this done please document it, it would be really cool to see that process.

That would be some serious transom work to close up the keyholes and then significant work in the ER to get the stringers set up to accept a single set of mounts. Good luck!

It is for sure possible but you will put more money into the swap then the boats worth now and you will have hurt the resale value as most people want twins and gas. Just to go from twins to a single you will have to fiberglass and gel-coat both drive holes in the transom and rip out a section of the stringers to replace them to hold a single engine also controls/fuel system/wiring. You didn't talk about what drive system you wanted to use, Outdrive you will need the adapter plates and steering linkages trim system to work with that engine. V drive would be a huge undertaking that would see you rebuilding most of the stern of the boat. Long story short don't waste you money, sell your boat and buy one that has a diesel or find a single engine boat that needs a motor.
