My new to me '06 44DB is arriving today by truck. I need to change out one of the seacocks (it has a hairline crack in the body). I've checked the parts manual and it shows a part number of 531376 which is a 2.5" model. Searched on the Web and can't find anywhere that translates from Searay part to OEM. My part distributor has several models that are of this style and bronze with a pretty big price difference. Question is: do I need to replace with the exact model, or will any 2.5" bronze seacock do? If replacing with the exact model is best, then how do I figure out the OEM model?

Thanks,

Scott

Any seacock that fits the existing hole/thru-hull will work. It may be necessary to re-seal the thru-hull fitting... especially if it comes lose when you remove the old seacock. Make sure whatever you replace it with will accommodate the original hose/pipe.

Congratulations on the new tug!

Your dealer should be able to get you the "exact" model, but I agree with the above that it doesn't necessarily need to be the exact model. I wouldn't buy solely on price, but as long as it's a reputable manufacturer and everything lines up, you're good.

I do not know of any online way of cross referencing Sea Ray part numbers - they are internal part numbers and have absolutely no bearing on the actual part.

Any advice for getting these rigid raw water intake hoses off so that I can remove the seacock? These suckers are really tough and they don't want to let go. I tried a little heat with a heat gun but I was not sure how much to apply, did not want to damage the rubber.

Heat will work and try moving it side to side instead of twisting.
I keep a heat gun on the boat just for this reason.
Might also be a great time to replace that short hose anyway.

Tricks? Ha! The only "quick" way I've found so far is to cut it off. Other than that, more heat. Once you "crack" it free (slip joint pliers might help) so it at least spins, do the twist and pull thing (shouting doesn't really help much). You can use quite a lot of heat on those hoses - just don't put the gun right on it (common sense).
