Replacing ceiling (mole hair) carpet

Has anyone found a replacement for the ceiling and wall carpet? Think its called mole hair carpet.

AHA! Having BTDT..... dynamite comes to mind!

Seriously... If it is starting to fall on its own, you can wear a respirator and rip,it down. If not, a hawksbill knife and a heavy duty scraper will help.

But..... What do you want as an end state?.

More thin and maleable carpet like monkey fur but less nap length. Want new runs of electric and stereo wire too so would do it all at the same time.

Meemar thats a great lead. What did you use as adhesive and how did you remove the old stuff?
