Hi all looking for replacement pads for my weaver davit system . I have all the metal parts that came with my boat and purchased s used aluminum hull 8ft Zodiac for a tender. I was shocked at the price if the pads for the dinghy itself. Can anyone reccomend a site to order from.. I will not be leaving my.outbosrd attached at all so think if my only way to save money is an off brand I am willing to go that route. Please help I dont want to pay as much for the pads and standoff receivers as I did for the zodiac and outboard.

There's no getting around that fact that all dinghy mounting systems are expensive. This applies to the Weaver pads as well. There are no "generic" equivalents that I know of. Keep in mind you will also need the proper glue for your dingy material. That stuff is expensive too. Use the 2 part type for this application.

My feeling is that there is a lot of force applied to the dingy and those pads when they are in use. You don't want the pads to be ripped off and cause damage to the dingy or your boat.

Since it seems that you're replacing pads that you didn't install and may not have done so before, pay very close attention to the instructions. Especially the part about not using the glue near water or in humid conditions. Excess humidity WILL cause the glue bond to fail. You need to do it when the humidity is low or in an air conditioned space. FYI, my local dingy shop will not do any glue work if there is rain or high humidity in the forecast.

Here are 2 options that are less than purchasing pads direct from Weaver:

Ok those prices are much less than from weaver or our local inflateable shoppe .. I have read through the install instructions and understand them quite well . I did not get the zodiac at the time I purchased the boat so am working from the hardware I have I am going to take some pics of the pieces I have and post them in hopes someone will fill me in on all the pieces I need to get. Your information is a great help . I may wait till the off season to install so I have the zodiac home warm and dry

Look on Kijiji. There are always adds for the Weaver pads and mounts etc. I just checked and there are some on there right now.

FYI, get a Weaver Arm if you can. Mounts to the dinghy transom and holds it solid with with an outboard attached.
