I have lost the microphone and they are impossible to find. I will replace the radio. I am looking for a good brand that will fit in the space vacated perfectly and a simple plug and play.

Recommendations anyone

If your 215 is still working then just find the mic. I had my cord replaced. It's hard to find, but doable. Find big WM store and they may help you if they have good contact with RM reps. This is what did the trick for me. Worst case, 218 is the replacement for 215.

That's what I just did, replaced the 215 with the 218. It does require enlarging the hole. The 218 is thicker(height).

I replaced my Raymarine 210 with a Standard horizon GX1500S. I made an ABS bezel to allow me to reuse the same mounting screw holes but cover the old old.

+1 on the cable repair. Call Linda Sullivan at Ray Marine. She handles all the repairs. I had my mic cable replaced last season for $75 and couldnt be happier. Linda.sullivan@raymarine.com and 603-324-7950. Call is better than email.

Very nice, professional job. By looking at your profile, we have very similar boats. I look to do the same replacement, from the Raymarine 215 that the cord is all shot on, to a Cobra MFR55 that I just bought, this upcoming weekend. Two questions -

1. How does the 1/8" ABS hold up to a flush mount? Does it feel solid and secure against it?
2. Where did you find a piece of ABS? Is this something Lowes/HD would carry?

Thanks for your assistance!

I just replace my cord on the 215 for $60. Ordered it Tuesday, came Thursday to my door. It took all of 5 minutes to attach it to the mic . I am very pleased with Raymarine service
