Will this be a possible replacement for Electronic Interface Module and switch pads? I found this by searching for the manufacturer of the original Sea Ray switch pads. It is an Italian company who now makes the Blink Marine digital switching system. Check the YouTube video -
. Your thoughts?

Technically it's the same concept - CAN-BUS switching and signalling (used basically every car). We have been doing some R&D ourselves on a replacement pad/box and ran across them a while ago. The main problem is not the technology but the programming. The Blink switch would need to understand and respond just like the current EIM. Without knowing the complete signalling it would not be a straight drop in.

We spoke to the original suppliers to Sea Ray who no longer manufacture these for them and I was told they sold off the business. We tracked down the company that acquired the division and were told that part of the product line was not carried over and basically abandoned.

We worked with their tech support for a little while to develop the scope to just replace the switch pads and have temporarily halted progress as there was rumor circulating that Sea Ray might be working on something. Until we can verify that we decided to remain in a holding pattern.

You would have to hard wire everything thing to the control board so might as well install dedicated switches and hard wire from the EIM location after cutting the corosponding wire for the circuit you want to the switches
Didnt see the cost of the unit with shipping from Italy

The blink is not cheap from what i remember and there were also some amperage restrictions that I never meshed out.

Yes, you are correct. We were investigating programming these as somewhat drop in replacements. That's where the amperage issues popped up. IIRC there high amperage ports need on the EIM where not available in similar quantity on the blink.

Kevin,

The label on the back of the switch that I am trying to replace, list the manufacturer as DNA Group, Inc. On their website, http://www.digitalswitchingsystems.com/landing/, they refer you to Blink Marine. Is this worth pursuing? I don't know enough to check this out myself.
Not if the rumors about sea ray doing it are true. If they do it our R&D time would more than likely not be recoverable. That is why it was tabled for the time being.

Hi Everyone. We would like to be of service to everyone working on this issue with their vessel. FP Marine (Flounder Pounder Marine) has developed systems to retrofit your vessel. We have systems currently available for everything from Bow Riders to 350 Sundancers.
Sometimes links can fail, so the best way to discover the solution for your boat is to visit our website, www.searay-parts.com and type the letters "EIM" into the search engine. Call us if you have any questions. 321-639-2951

Glad to see FP on this site!! Nice.

Hi there, we are getting ready to purchase a sea ray with the same issue. It is a 2006 320 Sundancer. Can anyone tell me specifically what items this board controls? We have been told the windless, the wipers, the horn and the vent window. Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the kind words, it has been 20 years this year!
