Hello All,

I have a 1985 Sundancer 250 on a tandem axle Shoreland'r trailer. Today I took the hubs off the trailer to inspect the brakes because I suspected they were not working. As it turns out, I was correct. In the process, I also discovered one of the bearing races was loose in the hub. I need to replace the hub but have no idea where to get one. I have searched for all the part numbers stamped on the hub and come up with nothing. The two numbers are 15638 and two hubs are stamped W-1 and two stamped W-2. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks,

Nick

Try here: http://www.shorelandr.com/pages/o_e_tc_service.aspx

You can also measure the bearings, 1 3/8 ID for the inside diameter of the inner bearing, 1 1/16 inside diameter for the outer bearing, wheel bolt pattern, disc or drum brakes, get a hub that matches that.

Do you have a store near you (Doesn't have to be a Sea Ray dealer)? Any place that sells trailer parts. Take the parts with you.

Thanks for the replies. I was told the drums are no longer made as the outside bearing ID is 3/4". Two reputable trailer places in NE Minneapolis told me my only option was to replace the hub. Since I only trailer 1 mile each way to the launch, I gouged the inner hub with an air punch which roughed the surface enough to make the race stick. I dont know how long it will last, but my trips are short. Thanks for your help.

Might also look at easternmarine.com . They have a division called trailer parts superstore, have a lot of hubs, bearings, etc. I bought from them and was very pleased with product.

As long as you keep the bearings packed and properly tightened you will probably run that hub from now on. I have used a punch and hammer on big truck hubs and know they ran for years after.
