My 2000 10k btu cruiseair unit has failed. It appears to have lost all its refrigerant from a leaking evaporator. Have been scouring the posts and there seems to be bad about everything. The dometic turbo has condenser failures, the Webasto has large cycle temperature swings, etc, etc. I would really appreciate some success stories and of course any rampant known reliability problems. Thanks, Mike

Replaced my forward unit with a marinaire unit. It is quiet, has a strong blower fan, digital controls and a remote. It also has built in gauges to keep an eye on things. It was a drop in replacement except for the round blower output to the square existing plenum. I believe you can get an adapter, we made one with material from home depot. My son and installed it in a few hours. A 14k unit would be great for your boat. $1650. www.marinaire.com

purchased a dometic unit last year , was an easy replacement-except I had to build up the platform an extra inch with two pieces of plywood to get proper tray drainage because of new hose location, but other than that it works like a champ.
I have my old unit that was working , except reversing valve was stuck-Compressor comes on ,fan blows , no leaks still has its full charge, maybe you can combine the two units- I am in NJ.

Thanks for the offer! Which unit did you use? We are in Bergen County and Forked River. M

replaced with dometic I think it was a 10,000. I didn't want to go bigger because I have heard if the unit is too big it will not run long enough between cycles and this will reduce the amount of humidity it can remove from the cabin. Unit works great and is a little quieter than old cruiseair unit.

I am in Clifton , and in Lacey at Lanoka harbor, that is when I am not at Tices.

We just replaced one of ours with a Webasto. Could not be happier. On 95 degree days it still cycles. Very quiet.
