replace portholes

You take the trim rings off on both sides and repaint them if need be. Hopefully, someone did not 5200 the the port lights in place. Assuming you can find replacement parts the lights go back in with 4200. Reinstall the trim rings.

Where would you find the trim rings? I have one that is all boogered up by PO trying to glue them. Pretty sure the clips are broken.
Anthony, you need to join the Pre-Clintonites post. Let yourself be known to those of us with the old 80's SR's

I bought two of them at my local SR dealer. One of them fell off in a heavy following sea. The boat was only a couple of years old so parts were not a problem. Maybe you could visit a marina and see if the owner has any old boats that are no longer being used and that have similar trim pieces. Ebay???

This is exactly how I did mine. Thankfully i was hualed out at the time and had someone inside as well.

I found new lights and rings on eBay for a good price. Made the mistake of overtightening one and cracked the lense so now that has a nuisance type dribble leak and needs replacing again :-( Don't over tighten these when you screw them back in!

On my previous 340EC, Found trim rings on ebay(if they are not cracked they can be painted) and had my local automotive windowglass shop whom also worked on boats do replacement (they cut lexan to fit for the new portholes) The also fixed leaky port side window.

Couldn't find anything on Ebay in the last few months. I emailed Prince William marina (our local dealer and this is what I got from the parts guy there.
Not sure who was the supplier back then, but this is their supplier now and
has been for many years.

http://www.pompanette.com/homeI guess Bomar is what they use and may have, but I can't find one that looks like mine. Guess I'll have to measure them when I get a chance.

I called Bomar and they were wonderful. I told them what boat I had and they said OK this is what you need. They new what Sea Ray was using in my model year. Give them a call they were very freindly.

FYI - I have bought from this eBay user several times. He ships fast and bundles multiple items to save you shipping costs. I bought new port lights and OEM chromed emblems for a 1992 Sea Ray and a few misc. items from him. Perfect fit and highly recommended.

if the link doesn't work, he is eBay seller SEARAYMAN13

No, it's not me and I don't know this guy, but he was helpful during my complete refit and deserves the attention :)

I haven't called yet, there are some on EBAY listed as portholes. $35. Who would have known, I was looking under portlights:smt021

Hopefully you will get the trim rings too.

They are not very hard to replace. They will fall apart in your hands, so wear gloves. Once you get them out, clean the area up really good. Notice on the port light it has a "top" marked on it. Take some clear 100% silicon and put a generous amount around the window.

Note: if the screw holes are different make sure you put some goo in the old holes. Then "pre-drill" you new holes so you don't crack your gel-coat.

Place the window in the hole and screw down. Tighten the screw by hand and not with a power tool or you could crack you new, hard to get, window. Make sure you have silicon squirting out all around the window, inside and out. Let dry. Next day carefully remove the excess silicon and install the trim ring.

Here is the threat on my windows.

I wasn't replacing the whole light, just the trim ring, but now that I think about it, if I can find one, I might just replace the whole kit&kabootle!

And SKEET, that is the same guy who has the trim ring I was looking for.
Thanks
