I live in DFW and am thinking of trailering to a Tx lake for a vacation this summer. Any ideas anyone has from past experiences on lakes to consider, rentals that have been nice, etc. Anything would be helpful. Thanks ---J

Lake Ouachita, located in the Ouachita National Forrest of more than 1.6 million acres near the resort city of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Lake Ouachita is surrounded by the Ouachita National Forest and is one of the cleanest lakes in the country.
If you desire a more active (it never stops) social venue, Lake Hamilton is next to Lake Ouachita.

State Scenic 7 Byway crosses the lake.
Water-skiing, pleasure boating and fishing are popular Hot Springs attractions on Lake Hamilton and rentals of watercraft and sport accessories are readily available. The Belle of Hot Springs is a 400-passenger riverboat that offers sightseeing, lunch, dinner and dance cruises on the lake. Garvan Woodland Gardens is a 210-acre, lakeshore botanical garden accessible by boat.
