Have anyone removed their V-Berth speakers?

During the down time I'm planning on doing some upgrades to the Audio system installed on LDII and replacing these speakers is high on the list.

Before I really screw something up can anyone give me some tips and tricks.

Thanks

Is there a fabric cover over them? If so, it is just a wood ring covered in fabric. It is simply press-fit into place.

The 98 290 DA has round fabric covered speaker grills with what feels like a metal ring fastened into a vinyl covered wall.

I'll have to take a pic the next time I'm onboard.

Yup, that's it. Just gently pull them out - it is not "fastened" in any way.

Thanks for the heads up. It's a tight fit. Just have to reach in through the speaker cover and grab onto the wooden ring and pull.

BTW for anyone who cares the speakers are 6.5" if you are planning to replace.

I'm thinking a nice set of Polk's for the inside would be a nice upgrade.
