Removing Lofrans from 400DA

Planning to rebed my Lofrans...well already started. the lower unit is almost off but didn't have any crow bars to help it off the last 4 inches. I assume the top part stays there with the drive wheel and drive shaft staying with the top side. Then pull off the top side and rebed. Any tricks to get it apart? Planning to use 3M 4000 versus 4200.

any suggestions on progress?

Hi. Just curious if you got your Lofrans progress 1 apart. I have the same challenge and could use any tricks to get the top to separate from the bottom. Thanks!

Not to hijack the thread, but how did Sea Ray determine the brand of windlass installed on each boat? My 1997 400DA has the Good free-drop rope windlass, but it seems like everyone else has a Lofrans. Was that a factory upgrade option, or did they use different windlass choices throughout the model year?
