I need to remove the 4.5 Westerbeke Genny in my 330 Sundancer. Of coarse, it seems as though the boat was built around the Genny!

I believe someone in the past said that you need to remove it by taking off the starboard engine exhaust manifold to get the room. I was looking at it tonight and it looks like even that would be tight.

Anyone ever do this? I'm hoping I don't have to pull the engine.

We all know someone who just did this job on a 1999 330DA earlier in the season...but he hasn't pulled into port yet.......

I agree, it looks tight. I guess you could start pulling everything off the genny and then try it.

We have a '95 330 and did a genset swap when we bought the boat. I had to remove the exhaust elbow and manifold to make enough room, but it did fit without having to remove the engine. And if you can, get a crane. Don't try to man-handle this thing in and out of the boat. <even though people claim to have done it>. It's too heavy, too much risk of injury and damage.
