I took my prop off for serivce. Using my mercruiser diagram, its basically shaft, thrust hub, Flo-Torq II drive hub, prop, drive sleeve, locking washer, prop nut.

Questions: * The Flo Torq drive hub and the drive sleeve are both still in the prop. I can't find an obvious way to remove them without force of some kind - and where? I want to send my prop for repair, and I assume I need to remove these parts.

* Three lubes are recommended for installing the prop. The one on there is a light green color. Anyone know which this is? Seems to hold up well, there is a ton of it in there.

* The prop nut is probably just jammed into the locking tab washer. But, before I move heaven and earth to seperate them, do some of these come as one piece?* Last, I didn't have a socket to fit the prop nut, my crescent wrench worked fine. Anyone know if these are metric? I want to look for a socket.

Thanks!

Hi Dave, sometimes the hub sets into the prop real tight. If you can't get it out use a rod and hammer and gently tap it out.

I just use 2-4C merc lube on the shaft.

The washer is separate from the nut.

Thanks Blaster.

The drive sleeve was incredibly hard to get out. It appears I damaged the splines on it just enough that it won't go back on the shaft. From research, it appears the the Flo-Torq II drive hub is a plastic part designed to provide some give if you hit the prop on something while running - which I did. The drive hub was shredded a bit, and probably why the drive sleeve was so d*mn wedged in. It looks like I'm in for a "hub kit" along with the prop repair. I'm sending the prop to PropMD, I'm hoping they can help me with the kit as well.
