I have an '87 Seville 19 ft BR. I am taking out rotten flooring and plan to replace stringers and foam if necessary but I'm clueless about the condition under the lounge seats. Obviously, I will remove the open flooring but I believe the outermost stringers are good. I can see rotted wood alongside the gas tank but, generally, what I can see of the seat bases and the floor under them looks OK. How are the bases removed? I see a couple of circles in the glassed flange on the seat base that might hide a bolt or screw (or not?). It looks like the seat bases are securely glassed to the floor and I suspect a saw is in their future if there is damage under them. Some day when my personal economy is better I would like to replace the lounge seats with four captains chairs - have any of you done that? How has it worked out? While I'm asking questions, I want to remove all the carpet and finish the repaired floor and side walls with a gel coat - anyone done that? Did it take a lot of putty to get everything level? Any recommendations on traction additives?
