In my quest to make my boat as idiot proof as possible, I am considering adding a remote oil reservoir to my outdrive. Has anyone installed one aftermarket? I have and alpha one, gen one outdrive (actually an SEI SE106 due to the fact that my oil went out and I didn't notice) so I don't have the oil reservoir going through the gimbal mount. The aftermarket kits that I've seen require a hole drilled in the transom and include an adapter to mount the fill hose to the vent plug in the outdrive. Here's a picture of the one that I'm looking at. Thanks for any advice.

I have never added one of those.

My only advice would be to be very cautious about having a hose and some sort of "adapter" attached to the fill plug. All it would take is for that hose to get snagged once and you'll be buying another outdrive! :wow:
