So, I have an 01 340 DA with 454 Horizons. I found that my remote oil filter lines have started to leak and am looking into replacing them. The Parts I have found are 32-808017 HOSE, COOLER TO ADAPTOR - $17932-807408 HOSE, BRACKET TO OIL COOLER - $7732-806178 HOSE, BRACKET TO ADAPTOR - $130This seems pretty pricy for oil hoses but the few sites I have looked at were all within about $20. I was going to replace them all on both engines but WOW!!!Has anyone found any better pricing on these?

Check with a local hydraulic hose supplier.
Many auto parts shops make hoses.
Nothing special about the OEM hoses...

I had mine done last year. The good thing, we won't have to again for 10 years.

Good advice on local auto shops as a source for hoses. If you find one that does a lot of air conditioning work they are likely to have the tools to make up the lines for you.

I am about to have my oil lines replaced. How long should this job take for both engines? Thanks.

It will be extra if the motor have to be removed first.
How long does it take? That depends on how much access there is to the motors

There is restricted access but I don't think the engines need to be removed. Is this a 2 hour job or a 10 hour job?

28 Coastal W/ Velvet drive trans took me 2 hours to change both lines to the trans cooler. poor access to the rear of the trans

Hydraulic shop made mine. Should last more than ten years too I should think since pressure and temperature are way below the working parameters of hydraulic fluids.

I am in the middle of the same process now. Changing all six hoses for both engines. Went with the $800+ new OEM hoses, but figure they will last another 16 years - like the old ones. However, if I am still around in 16 years, I think I will have someone else install them....

I had Pertek make me all new hydraulic line and they used my old 90 degree bent pipe fittings.....good up to 3600 PSI, i shouldn't have any problems forever with these lines. Around $100 each average.

Have to do mine. Was thinking if I can get to where the oil filter adaptor is easily, why even bother with all the lines. Just adds another point of failure. I know I can get to the one on the port engine without too much fuss, the question is can I fit between the motors to get access to the starboard one.

My old 300 didn’t have them when I got it but I installed them when I repowered.
Not sure how your boat is set up, but the oiled filters on my old 300 were up against stringers and while they were easy enough to remove and replace, getting them over those stringers without making a huge mess was nearly impossible and added a ton of time to oil changes.
The remote oil filters eliminated that problem.

I just spent two hours removing the exhaust manifold and then wrestling to get just ONE of the hoses off our starboard 350 in a 290da. Absolutely brutal access with the genny on that side

Does anyone know what size the nut is that holds the adapter on the center? (one of the hoses attaches to it). I had an 1 1/4” Wrench with me that wasn’t big enough. The whole this is loose so I need to hold that nut in place while tying to loosen the compression fitting.

Some of the adapters are plumbed in with the oil cooler lines as well so you might not be able to just eliminate the remote adapter.

I didn't see any cooler lines in the schematic for the older 5.7s but until I actually crawl back there and see what kind of access and setup I have, this is just me thinking out loud.

For anyone else doing the job: I called merc and they said the center nut fitting uses a 1-5/16" wrench. He said the flare fittings should be 3/4, which is true for one of mine, but the other is larger. I have to measure that one.
