Do you remember the couple who snuck into the White House with no credentials or experience?

Unfortunately, they are still there!

If we are lucky, they may only be there two more years. Here comes the big income tax increase.

Here's a picture you guys might not like;

That graph misrepresents who is in charge of spending... Instead of overlaying the current president, overlay who is in charge of congress (democrat vs. republican). The president can't spend money... only the congress can spend money. The later years with Clinton represents a republican controlled congress. Dork-o Obama keeps saying the "Bush policies"... but it was a congress out of control... the "Bush Policies" were the fact he didn't veto all the damn spending.

I agree. The George W. didn't veto all the darn spending. The Clinton years represented a reduction in debt in part because he *did* veto all the darn spending.

BTW: Bush had a Republican congress for 6 of the 8 years he was in office. A huge expansion of the the "Entitlement state", the perscription drug benefit, was passed by the Republican congress and signed by the Republican George Bush.

And the current Tax rate plan, where the tax rates went down and then go back up were also enacted by a Republican Congress with a Republican President.

We can debate elsewhere why nobody is "extending" the tax cut measures a few more years or permanently.

how did we get here? :huh:

I post a little joke about the president and the libs start defending him!!!!

give us some specific spending bills President Clinton veto'd. bet they were defense related!

Finaly figured out the password. Thanks Chuck1

Yes Gary, this does go beyond Obama’s Presidency. We should all know Presidents set budgets, Congress appropriates funds, and the veto pen should be used to knock down bloated partisan bills. The system needs balance between good bills and fiscal responsibility. During the Reagan years we developed enormous debt while Congress appropriated less than Regan requested. Not very fiscally responsible of the Gipper. The Republican Congress did keep Clinton in check but Billy did support balancing the budget. I would like to see that again in my life time. I don’t think Obama will go down in history as the bad guy you make him out to be.

We can all see how money buys the media that sets the tone for power to control the money. Just think big right? It seems much of the top 5% use their wealth and influence to keep or grow there power at our expense. It’s not the politicians going to there own fund raisers. But what’s the right thing to do? Shouldn’t we find a way to break the power cycle and get back control! Isn't it horrifying to think of how the Supreme Court ruling known as "Citizens United" has changed politics? It's sad to see weak minded people easily influenced by corporation and political groups through the media. When I see far left or right propaganda, I think of how easily people are manipulated for power and profit. This is a good year for that because people seem extra pissed off and uninformed.

I want a balanced budget. If we have to have debt then I would rather see my money spent on infrastructure and education than f’d up wars and bank bailouts.
