Does anybody have any suggestions for a marina? What are you paying at your current marina? I will be living in the Jax Beach area. If there's any other info that would help your suggestion just ask. I used to boat on a lake in S.C but have experience on Salt. I prob wouldn't look to go too far on the open ocean if go out there at all. I would prefer to keep it on the intercoastal.

I appreciate any help.

Does anybody know anything about boating in Jacksonville!? This may be the first time there has been no response to a question!

There's waaaaaay to much boating experience on this board to get nothing. C'mon fellas!.................. Anybody?....................Huh?

Try the Florida/Georgia forum on thehulltruth.com. I remember a lot of message activity from that locale.

Do you have any idea where you are going to live? You may be closer to St. Augustine or Amelia Island than Jacksonville. Amelia has a beautiful Marina downtown but I don't know their monthly rates only their nightly - $1.75 per foot. St. Augustine City Marina is very nice as well. I just don't know Jacksonville.

Well I am on the Westside a bit away from the Beach on the Ortega River I pay with tax and 2-30amp circuits, $500.00 per month. Of course I am 20 miles from the beach area via the St. Johns

Look at Lamb's link and that should perhaps give you a ball park figure to work with

Lamb's Yacht Center, here is a link to their rates.

Or here is another link to marina's around Jacksonville beach

I'm with "Pseudomind" in recommending Lamb's. I plan to move my 270 Amberjack there from Julington Creek, if not early next week then perhaps as soon as today.
It's not that J Creek isn't a great marina with much hospitality, but for only slightly more than I pay now for an outside slip there, I can be under cover at Lamb's.
I have walked quite a few docks, searching for what's right for me. Let me know where you are going to be living and how you plan on using your boat and I'll help you if I can.

Let me know when/If you move there? I am at slip 41 on the wooden dock. If you do make the move to Lambs and if you opt for the wood dock, I would suggest a slip closer to the middle, versus the end. My reason for this is less wave action from the wake of other boats going out or coming in to port.

Jax Beach and Lamb's doesn't synch to me. I would think more in the line of Morningstar or Comachee Cove.

I have no idea where Morningstar is in relationship to Jax Beach. I do know that Comachee Cove is at St. Augustine, just North of the Villlanos bridge on the west side of the ICW.

As to Lambs I was not recommending it, but just stating the price for a reference.

I was however commenting to CaptainRich about maybe eventually meeting him if he does move to Lambs.

You will have plenty of places to explore. The St John's river is a great trip into south Florida.

As far as marina's go there are a couple off of Beach Blvd at the intercoastal along with boat ramp and resturants. I have put in there before. Only down side to the ramp is not enough parking.

Actually, I did move from Julington, location not being the only consideration.
Due to many things that were out on anyone's control, I've been a way from boating for a few years. Since purchasing a "new-to-me" boat, I'd hoped to keep it at JCM in the slip were I first saw it. THEY changed that. Nobody told me that the marina was planning to under-go multiple dock reconstruction and...and reduction. The slip I was in wasn't even going to be there next week...docks and piers: gone.
Long story shortened, during the four weeks that I was at JCM, I was moved from slip to slip, occupying four different slips (at one point, after coming back from a day on the water with my "new" boat, another boat was tied off in my slip, with my dock lines. And I was told he'd left for the day. Find another slip .... !!??
Who's made to retie into a different slip every week??

Happiness to me is Julington Creek Marina, disappearing aft my wake.

BTW: after all this shell game.... I've only been there a month.... I'm being charged slip fee for the month of April. Anybody want a parking spot? #88 is open.... until they let it to someone else.
