As some of you know I recently moved ImpulseIII from the beautiful Barnegat Bay, NJ (thinking about you Dominic  ) to the Chesapeake Bay and will be keeping the boat at a marina in Maryland. I just received my annual Maryland DNR stickers for the boat but no registration card. I emailed DNR and was told that a documented boat in MD does not need a state registration card (I needed one in NJ) so....my question is does a USCG Documented boat require a state registration card if docked in Maryland? I only ask because the email response I got from the state was not all that assuring. Thanks in advance.

That's our DNR for you :smt021 Why would they be reassuring??!? I don't know whether it is required, but I did receive a registration card from the DNR and I carry on board.

In Virginia, you do not register your boat with the state if it has USCG Documentation.

If the boat is documented you don't get a registration card. You do get the stickers to let the DNR (Department of Never-ending Revenue) police know that you've paid your MD taxes. That's all they care about.

Hey Frank....and you thought only NJ MVC was out to take your $$$$$.... looks like MD has their hands in your pockets also....

Yeah, but Dominic, I just paid $10.00 for TWO years. I think my NJ registration was $80-90 per year. :smt021 I do not miss a thing about the Garden State except my friends who still live and boat there. :smt089

5 bucks a year!!!!!.....it cost more than that if all you want is a copy of your reg in NJ.... :smt089
