I just got an inflatable off e-bay (Baltik) from affordable inflatable.

What are you using for the reg numbers? Decals? Paint?

Also, I have an 8hp Merc that has the shift built into the tiller handle. How can I regulate the speed when the kids take it? Is there a way to govern the speed?

In our state, it's illegal to attach one of the plastic registration number placards as seen at West Marine, although allot of people do it.
We are supposed to mark the dingy itself.
Decals will not stay affixed.
Paint ussually won't adhere properly.
One of the best soutions I've seen, is a permanent magic marker, in 3" block letters.
You buy the decal strip, throw away the decals, and use the strip as a stencil for the marker at the appropriate numbers or letter.
It will fade in the sun, and have to be touched up seasonally, but it's still the best.
Our yearly 3"x 3" registration decals are affixed inside the transom, on the hard surface, next to the motor.

With our new dinghy we used boatnumberplate.com for a classy, but somewhat expensive result.

Did you go thru BoatersWorld? How long did it take? They look really nice.

Any ideas on the motor issue? I really don't want the kids running with their hair on fire just yet. :smt101

Dingy #'s

You can get die cut vinyl numbers and letters from Boater's World. These are glued to the boat using hypalon cement. Follow directions for the glue.

Using a pencil make very light spacing marks to establish level and evenly spaced placement.

Keep some glue around as every now and again one will start to life and you'll want o slap it back into place.

If you do a neat seamanlike job of it these look really frosty!
