We defrosted our refrigertor on wednesday. Emptied it out and let it dry. Came back a few days later, cleaned it up and now it does not run. The green light in the refrig comes on, the dash on/off switch for refrig does not light up when on, and the refrig does nothing... Any ideas???? Could it be a GFI switch? Are there fuses I should look for??

Have you tried re-setting the GFI reset button on the aft compartment outlet. Maybe a GFI in the head compartment somewhere??

Can we narrow it down to A/C or D/C?

In other words, will it run on one, but not the other?

Please don't take this the wrong way, but trying not to overlook the obvious, could it possibly be that the temp dial is turned down too low?

refrigerator

HI Guys,

Checked the GFI in head and it was OK. Not sure if there is another one somewhere else I should look for. Also, the unit not working on either D/C or A/C. And the the temp button was turned all the way up on 5.. We actually moved the temp button to different settings and switched the on/off switch. The switch did have the green light on. But the switch on my dash (for refrig) would not light up....

to be shure that you have 12v/110v refrigerator check label inside refrigerator. there should fuse or braker for fridge (for 12v) and gfi control on 110v. also depends on model there is green light next to thermostat. if your lighton dash is not coming on is more likely that breaker tripped, but fridge should work on 110v (if you have dual voltage refrigerator). if doesn't work on 110 too - some models have power supply right on top of fridge with own fuse (when that fuse is blown refrigerator won't work at all).

Dont laugh... smack the thermostat dial!! Make sure the t stat is set to a temp first... then really smack it ... its probably just hung ups as it was working before... happens more then u think.

Rob

If that doent work remove the dial . T stat has to terminals . Just jiump them. then ull know if its the thermostat... smack it first...

Hey villain,

On mine (should be pretty similiar) there is a second gfi outlet just above the fridge behind the galley sink (admiral had an air freshener plugged in it. When it tripped it took two days to figure out why the tv wasn't turning on) and then a second in the head. Unit will only run off 12v if the dash refrig switch is on. Check the reset button/fuse on dash. If the green light indicating power is on when your 12v switch is off, then you are running off shore power. If that's the case, I agree thump the thermostat...
