Hello! We are in the process of buying our first boat!!! :) Fun times!!

We just agreed on price and assume the next step is to find a surveyor?

We are true newbies but have done about 2 years of research on the sea ray...we had no idea how much was involved, but are still having a great time, just need a mentor....;)

What should we look for besides accreditation? We have read several samples of what to expect from a surveyor but we know there is more to it...help!

He has done a couple for us, is very good and he's an engine guy too which helps. He'll also get oil samples done for you if needs be. He does most of the surveys for National Liquidators a big company in Ft. Lauderdale so I think he keeps pretty busy. Good luck!

Try this guy he did 4 boats for me....http://www.pickersgillyachtsurvey.com/about.htm

Wanted to add all the boats I bought were good and no problems!

Henry HANDS DOWN! He is fantastic. No issues that he didn't find. I've used three different surveyors over the years on different boats, hands down he is the best. Very impressive resume. He traveled over to Ft Myers to complete mine over the course of two days due to some water in the fuel issues we had on day one.
