Recommended Odor Treatment?

Yes, just flush a squirt occasionally. I keep a bottle under the sink.

Sounds like a good idea. I think I'll add that to my to-dos. It's good to have Dawn on board for several applications.

Honestly guys, I have read through this thread and I'm amazed that nobody seems to have picked up on the fact that all these suggestions and methods for odor removal are unnecessary if you use the noflex digestor (except the filter recharge, that is genius).
We have used it for over a year now and and the odor problem is gone. The Admiral is a stickler for clean and has a nose like a bloodhound and she is totally satisfied and happy with the lack of odor now we use noflex.

Really, try it and see for yourself its almost miraculous. And I can tell you when I pump out it doesn't stink and it almost looks like I'm pumping water not waste.

One note: Before you start using noflex pump out and rinse thoroughly a couple times to get rid of any chemicals in the holding tank.

Pack (cub scouts?)... I think that's that an excellent idea - we used to use something along the same lines in our outhouses at our cabins along the Maine coast. It was an enzyme (bacteria?) that we sprinkled on to help keep the "pile" down. Funny thing... we would tell guests that the enzyme's would eventually start to grow larger and larger after all the feeding that they would do over time. Always told them to check the underside of seat rim before sitting down. One guy didn't go for nearly 3 days until we made a trip into town!

Question... I use the SeaLand bowl cleaner/seal conditioner and do not want to stop using that. What do you use for your seals? I'd be worried that the conditioner might hamper the effect of the enzyme?

Pack66Dad= My son played football at the University of Nevada (Wolf Pack) and his number was 66...... I started that moniker while he was playing and it kind of stuck.

As far as the seal conditioner I don't think it will harm the process, we use that also and have had no ill effects. It was my local SeaLand dealer that turned me on to noflex. He is hearing rave reviews about it and has a hard time keeping it in stock. Like I said, its almost miraculous it works so well.

Thanks for the recommendation on the Noflex, I started using it and a few friends did as well. This made a big difference and none of us experience smells and pumping out shows no solids. Best product I have used by far!

guys, I put and leave my y valve in the open position so I dont always have to go into the bilge when pumping. Is this ok or should I change it back to the postion that does not allow you to remove waste unless u turn valve to proper position? will that help w/odor or does it have any bearing on the issue? Also will be buying some No Flex. thanks Rob

Glad you tried it and like it. Almost everyone in our yacht club uses it now and nothing but rave reviews.

So I have some noflex and think it works well. Just wondering if you follow the instructions on the bottle adding some each time, or if you add some and leave it until you pump out, then add more?

When we are on the boat I put in the recommended daily dose with the first flush of the morning. When we are not using the boat I put in a little when I go down to check the boat and start the engines.
