Good morning. Need a recommendation on a reputable dealer or mechanic in the central pa area. I will drive for a good place that will do the job right and communicate.
Long story short, just purchased a new to us 2005 Sea Ray Sundeck 240. It was previously used at times in saltwater and unfortunately found out the hard way that while the boat is in great shape, the mechanics were a bit neglected. It has been brought to my attention that many of the cooling passages are corroded and that a repower would make the most cost-efficient sense. It was also explained to me that the engine at one time shows evidence of a severe overheating. The boat is at a dealer in the Lake Raystown area and I am not having a very good experience.
Currently there is a 5.0 MPI installed with a Bravo 3 and I would like to replace it with a 5.7 either certified remanufactured or brand new. Looking for a recommendation on a dealer or mechanic that can handle the repower and will communicate with me the process and give me realistic time frame and updates. I have lost an entire season do to lack of communication and gross misdiagnosis. Very frustrating because I could do the work myself, I just don't have the space or facility.
I am willing to take the boat wherever is needed. I can drive to the Greater Philadelphia, Allentown or surrounding areas. I can also purchase a ready to drop in, fully dressed, plug and play crate engine from Michigan Motors to can be delivered where needed.
I just want to put this behind me and start enjoying the boat. Any recommendations that people have is very greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Damon is right on the Bohemia River on the Chesapeake Bay. Not a far drive for you. He's very well known in the area, personally owns 7 boats, and is pretty much who everyone goes to for all things big and small. He sends pics during the job, videos, keeps in constant contact and even follows up weeks after the job to make sure things are going well, etc. He works on my boat so I know him pretty well. Tell him John Kelly gave you his info.

One of the longtime awesome posters on CSR has an affiliation with a Sea Ray dealer in Allentown. His handle is Lazy Daze. He may have some information for you.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I will be reaching out. Hopefully I can get a few days to break in the new boat this season. Thanks again.
