Hi all,
Hope everyone had a good New Year!
I'm in the market for a place that can paint the name of my boat on my boat. Anyone know of a good place out on Long Island, NY?
Thanks!

Ask around at local boatyards if you really want it painted on.
The name was painted on my last boat and I wouldn't do it again. It is too delicate when it comes time to polish and wax the transom. Vinyl is much better. That's what I'm putting on this boat this Spring. I'll be at the NY Boat Show and my wife will work out what she wants with one of the vinyl graphic vendors there.

Call MarineMax in Lindenhurst and ask them who they use. They deliver their new boats with painted names and hailing ports.

Island Boat letting in Merrick Long Island did a fantastic job with vinyl letting for our boat.

On previous boats that had painted names the lettering scratched fairly easily. You also need to be careful when waxing the boat. I would recommend the vinyl lettering over the painted name.

Good luck with the new boat
