Anyone know of a very close dimensional replacement for the Ray210 VHF?
The mic cable is frayed at the connector, and it's time for a new one, and I'd like to not work around the larger hole.
Thank you,
Laurence

What did you replace your Ray210 with?

Hi Laurence,
I recently replaced mine on my 260 DA with a Raymarine Ray60. Unfortunately the cut-out at the helm was a little too big but the radio slotted straight in to the surround plate for the 210 very snugly so I left the surround in place. Next time I am at the boat, I'll take a picture if you want to see it. I also added an Evermore 320 marine GPS receiver to provide positioning information to the radio. I've fixed it underneath the dash and it works great.

I hope Mike chimes in here pretty soon. I replaced mine with a Standard Horizion because I wanted AIS for all the barge traffic on our river. Mike hooked me up with a nice adaptor plate.

My apologies everyone: Just realized how old this thread was. I'm still getting used to the website, a newbie mistake I guess.

I just replaced mine with a Uniden UM 415, because I wanted the newer radio's features. I used a 3D printer at the library to make a mounting bracket to fit the older, larger hole in the instrument panel. Before and after pictures are below. It reuses the same screws and holes from the original.

If you need the details of how to do this, feel free to pm me or reply in this thread. I can give you a list of the back bracket you'll need to order from Amazon, and how to get the mounting adapter printed at your library (lots of libraries have a small 3D printer now, and the tech there will probably run it for you). It's not expensive ($25.00 for everything).
