Hello everyone . Let' see if anyone has encounter something similar . I have a Raytheon autopilot 650 I would give it a course and it would work fine for 15 minutes and go back to standby . I would put auto pilot work for a few minutes and later back to stadby and so on every time shorter period of time in auto . Till you are not able to go on auto. I noticed that the rudder indicates is showing only to port side not to starboard so I purchase a new rudder sending unit. It work fine showing the rudder to both side for 20 minutes now I am back to only showing port side again. I have been checking for loose connections but don' seem to find anything. Any suggestions..?

Mine spent almost 2 decades being "quirky", but never exhibited that behavior. I almost never use auto mode though - I tend to steer manually, or engage Nav mode.

Does yours stay in Nav mode?

Check your voltage. I’ll bet you have low voltage at times. The course computer is very sensitive to voltage drop. Also see if you have conflicts on your seatalk network.
