My boat has an in-hull Airmar P79 transducer which is tagged with a Raymarine part number, Raymarine DSM300 digital sounder module, and Raymarine E120 display. Seems I'm having issues getting the depth to numerically display and a readable water column/bottom profile. See the attached photo (not mine but almost exactly like what I'm seeing).
I'm aware of the DSM300 historic issues and power requirements but I can't seem to understand what is going on that would do this. Another CSR member is sending me his DSM300 to see if that is the issue but I'm skeptical.
Has anyone else seen this or know what is causing the issue? What is the cause/fix?
Thanks
Tom

Maybe too simple, but have you checked if there is still fluid in the transducer well?

I did. Took it apart inspected it, cleaned it out and refilled with ethylene glycol; no joy..

Also the little icon in the top right corner of the display shows the sonar working and the DSM300 status light shows healthy.

Time to buy a used E120!. There are quite a few on eBay and pricing is not bad since lots of people are upgrading to new electronics. Might buy you a few years.

Have you tried a factory reset on the E120? Or switch the transducer to your second display if you have a second one.

I haven't tried a factory reset. Second display is the Sea Ray Navigator so switching is out.
All else on the E120 is operating good.
