I have the original raymarine c80 installed with radar on my 2006 320. At the end of the season I was having some intermittent issues with the unit and was thinking of upgrading. I am considering selling this boat in the next year, I don’t think a brand new system will bring the return on the investment... can anyone recommend a replacement raymarine chart plotter that will function with the 5k radar dome. I had heard that the
e-series equipment is compatible but not really sure. Thanks

I had a c70 crap out on me right before a big trip.....I was ready to do it "the old fashion way" but decided to have a look inside the c70 before I got underway (nothing to lose at that point) I opened it up and pushed on all the cable connections (there was nothing clearly unhooked) I put it back together and it fired up fine and worked the rest of the season - I eventually upgraded to garmin and gave away the still working c70......along the way someone confirmed that the internal cables/connectors sometimes loosen up.......just my experience, but like me, what do you have to lose...If you were just getting an intermittent "no fix" often its the antenna (or battery in the antenna) the raystar 120 was crap.....not sure if you have that or a 125......they were much more robust - I gave one away on here not too long ago......Good luck

My intermittent issues started after hosing out of my cockpit... screen cover was on, I didn’t intentionally spray it down or anything, just startled freaking out... beeping continually, swivel stick ( or whatever u call it) had the cursor pinned down to the right on the chart. It dried out and worked fine afterwards and now while on the hard. Was surprised it was affected by the hose spray, and don’t want to end up in a situation where I am left without those tools.

The early E80 and C80 were compatible with most of the peripherals so your radar should be OK. You can probably buy a used C80 on ebay. Boaters are upgrading and replacing those units all the time and there are a lot out there to buy cheap. Your buyer will probably upgrade so don't spend a lot of money. Or maybe leave it as is for that reason.

The ray marine home base in NH may have a unit the they are looking to get rid of for cheep money, the only issue is it may not have a warranty.
