rainy day on lkn

I must have just missed you. I had to run my daughter back to PYC and left about 3:15

if anybody goes out Sunday let me know.....if the weather allows we plan to go out Sunday....maybe we can hook up on the water or meet at a restaurant for a bite and beverage.....

Hope you had a good day on the lake today Cliff. I had a family dinner day Sunday, or I would have been out there.

Next weekend!?

oh man, sorry you could not get out......right now we plan to go out next WE......

we had a great day.... weather was perfect....ambient temp was around 85*F and the water temp was 82*F......went north up around the State Park and found a nice area to anchor for a few hours.....not a lot of boats out on the northern part of the lake so we had good water to cruise in.......

we topped up with fuel before we headed out.....we burned 29 gallons of fuel last WE just cruising around......we went all over the lake.....we probably burned around 20 gallons this WE......

i sure wish my fuel gauge was more accurate.....it is at least 1/4 tank off....i have changed fuel senders twice and checked the gauge....once with a new float arm OEM type sender and once with the Royce type sender......when i am at idle or when the engine is not running and the boat is flat in the water the gauge is almost 1/2 tank off.....when i am on plane the gauge reads better but is still 1/4 tank off.....

does anybody know of a fool-proof design fuel sender that actually works?

Mine has always showed a different level between floating level, or running on plane. Floating level shows less fuel. I have just compensated by knowing what the difference is.

I was down to the lake on Sunday. Had lunch at North Harbor. I was surprised at little traffic there was on the lake. Went up to Skippers and not many cars in the lot. None of my old slip buddies were there. Like they closed up shop.

I noticed the same thing. I think the weather forecast scared a lot of people into staying home.

Actually I think I found where everybody was.

When I went to my pops house in Clover, SC. I went past the new Outlet Mall in Steele Creek.....holy moly. Traffic jam!!
Thats just crazy. Why would.....nevermind, I don't understand why people do what they do anymore. Let them fight each other. I'll go there when the novelty has worn off.

When I was eating breakfast at the Boathouse "we" were all wondering why the restraunt wasn't busy.

Looks like rain again this weekend!!!! 60% chance everyday, friday, sat, sun........

Maybe we'll get lucky, and get the 40% chance. haha

That was pretty much the weather report for last weekend. It don't think it rained at all on Saturday and Sunday was gorgeous. Let's hope for the same this weekend.

Yea, I think I'll be taking the chance this weekend. No plans for this weekend yet, so maybe I'll plan to anchor out.........we'll see what the weather person has to say tonight! Haha

the only day we can go out is Saturday if the weather permits....if anyone goes out then and wants to hook up let me know.....

Sunday the Admiral is going to a baby shower and i will be working on the boat some....i installed two new 6"x9" stereo speakers in the cockpit just in front of the rear seats and a small 400W marine amp to power the new speakers and the 6" front speakers a few weeks ago....they sound great when the engine is not running but i am getting engine (alternator) noise through the speakers when the engine is running....probably a problem with the routing of the speaker wires too close to a power wire or possibly a grounding issue....i already changed the RCA patch cables to the head unit thinking that was the problem but that did not help....if anyone has any other suggestions what to look at please let me know.....i will probably make a post in the electrical forum for some ideas as well.....

if i happen to get the problem fixed early enough on Sunday and the weather is OK i may take the boat out by myself for a while.....i have never taken the boat out by myself so that would be a new experience....

Funny Cliff. I boat single handed all the time. It makes for a relaxed time on the boat. I don't seem to date women that appreciate being on the boat. It's my dream one day to find a woman that wants to boat as much as me. haha

Thanks Cliff. I always have a bunch a women and kids. it doesn't make for a relaxed time because I am always taking care of them. My dream is one day to be single so I can actually enjoy the boat by myself.

yea, i guess i am lucky in that my wife loves boating as much as i do........and she enjoys a few other things that i enjoy too.........

taking the boat out by myself will be a lot easier now that we have it wet slipped....i imagine launching and retrieving the boat solo could have some challenges....

i know what you mean Jim.....when the boat is loaded with people it really changes the dynamics of the boating experience....not that it is still not enjoyable but it is just different because you are constantly distracted with adjusting the trim and tabs due to people moving around and also insuring everyone is following the rules and behaving properly....if you are pulling tubes or skiers that is yet another distraction.....and then there is the time and cost involved to ride people around that they rarely understand and appreciate....

That's funny Jim. I guess it all about perspectives.........haha
