yea, it rained in Lancaster pretty much all morning on Saturday so we decided to stay home and take care of some things....then on Sunday morning it was just cloudy so we took a chance and drove up to the boat around 11:00 thinking we could at least wash the boat and see if the weather would clear for some decent boating in the afternoon....it started raining before we even got to the boat.....so we visited my parents in Mooresville for a while....was still raining a few hours later so we gave up on boating and went to Bass Pro Shop at Concord Mills Mall and killed some time.....

pretty bummed that we did not get any boating in this WE.....

It did clear up around 5pm. I cruised around the lake abit before heading home. It was nice without all the boat traffic.
I had a lucky spree in the afternoon, the weather stayed nice enough to dry out the canvas, and boat. I put Frayed Knot on the trailer and headed home.
Right after I put her in the building, the bottom dropped out and a downpour happened. I thanked the good lord for waiting on me.

Another Saturday rainout. Dang it the weekend rain.

+1.....forced us to stay home also.....had to work on Sunday but was looking forward to boating on Saturday.....did get a chance to do some things around the house that needed attention but it still sucks.....

I got out on the lake Sunday. Went to the new restraunt Port City. Looks good. I say looks good because my old age kicked in and I forgot my wallet! Dang it.
I pulled into a slip and the dock hand helped me tie up the boat. I went to give him a tip......no wallet!
Couldn't even buy lunch, guess I'll have to try again next weekend. I'm to young to be so forgetful! haha

i did the exact same thing this WE.....went to pay for a few things at Advance Auto....when i reached for my wallet and discovered it wasn't there i just looked at the sales guy like a deer in headlights....

I noticed the last couple of weekends, a group of Sea Rays rafted up and spending the weekend in the cove above the hwy 150 bridge. Is that anyone from here?

looks like we may get a break from the rain and get out this WE on Norman......but it is going to be HOT!......

Jason I might be out in the 150 cove saturday afternoon. If I see y'all I'll come say hey.

If I don't get out saturday Cliff, Sunday will be my boat day. I'm thinking a do over for last weekend and head up to Port City for lunch.

OR, just maybe I'll head out both days!!! What the heck, I've missed a couple of weekends due to rain. Another thought, maybe I'll spend saturday night out on the lake.......what to do!? haha

MikeWe will be out Sunday afternoon probably over in the cove at Westport. Stop by if you're going to Port City

Well, I made it out on the lake sunday. Port City is a very nice place. Seems like it's bigger than I remembered it when it was Mid Town. The crab cake sandwich is awesome.

Jim, I stopped by the westport cove and didn't see you there so I went on to the cove above the hwy 150 bridge.

Cliff, did I run past you on the main channel? I headed toward Westport, and you headed north up the lake? It hit me after I was past you.

The cove above Marshall Steam Station was crowded, alot of boats in there. Seems like everyone is anchoring toward the front of the cove now that someone has cut the rope swing down......again.

I put 72 miles on the boat today, running from mid lake to Port City, up the Davidson channel almost to Vinnies, back to westport, then up to the hwy 150 cove, back to mid lake. Long run but it was fun.
Only ran into a couple of knuckleheads that have no clue how to run a boat. Some dumb........ Baja sportboat guy almost hit me in the no wake zone under the hwy 150 bridge, he was still going like 35mph thru the bouys and the no wake zone!!!! haha Some people amaze me.

yep, you past us on the channel.....i told my wife when you passed i thought that was you......i could tell it was your boat by the 'honda in a box' on the swim platform....you looked like you were on a mission so we didn't try to run you down.....

we had a great day on the water.....i don't think it got nearly as hot as they were calling for.....we ran down to the nuclear station just to look around and then swung by Holiday Marina to check it out....we are thinking about dry stacking our boat there next year.....then went by North Harbor Club but it was busy so we didn't eat there.....headed back up to the train trestle area and anchored for a couple hours and floated in our chairs and listened to music.....saw the rain clouds building so we headed back in around 6:30.....

just a good day on the water.....we need to get together one WE......

I was headed to meet with Jim, but he wasn't there.

I agree, one of these weekends, we all should have a Lake Norman CSR raft up to get to know each other.

Mike,

We did get out but not until after 2pm. Catch you net time.
