My 2010 310 Sundancer always has water in the bilge. I've been trying to figure out where it gets in and it looks like it's coming from the big side vents. I notice the stainless screens on both side vents had come loose from the frame. I took them off only to find they weren't welded but glued to the frame. I cleaned them up and had the screening tack welded to the frame. While reinstalling I could see straight down onto the bilge so now I'm trying to come up with an idea how to stop the rain water but maintain good airflow into the engine room.
I'm going to fabricate a panel and install it to deflect the water out but I'll leave a gap at the top so the air still flows. Has anyone else noticed this on their boats?

Yes indeed. My last boat (340 Amberjack) had intakes up on base of the radar arch, but even there rainwater can get in. What it had was a wooden box underneath the vent opening that had a bottom, two sides, but no top. On the bottom corner was a drain with a hose that drained though a small fitting into the aft cockpit area. Water would travel from there along the outer wall and drain through a scupper in the aft corners and out under the swim deck.
My current boat had some kind of black plastic affair on the inside of the ER directly behind the vents, but its been broken over the years and allows rainwater to enter the ER. PITA! I'm going to fab something up to catch and direct the rain water out of the boat.

My 270 does the same thing. If you're docked anywhere that often gets heavy rain, and blowing wind, you're almost guaranteed to always have water in your bilge
