Radio wiring???

I'm replacing an old Pioneer radio with a Sony. The old radio plug had only 6 wires for a 4-speaker system...but the new radio uses 8 wires. Is there an easy way to do this? Old plug uses green, green-black, green-red, gray, gray-black and gray-red. New plug uses green, green-black, gray, gray-black, white, white-black, purple, purple-black. The harness is hard to reach, so I'm not sure what wires are coming in and how to work with them. Any help very much appreciated!

may not work (older radios shared "-" on speaker for fwd and rear pairs, on new radios those are separated), but when you follow wires going to plug you should find actual speaker wires connected to radio plug and there should be all 4 pairs (8 wires).

Thanks...I kind of thought that, but appreciate the reply! Hoping I can dig deep enough to find the actual speaker wires.
