I was wondering how to get the overlay for the RADAR to properly show up on the plotter. My batteries ran out of power and after that happened it seems like the RADAR is showing heads up and the plotter is not. I looked in the setttings and both are set for the same, but obviously something is not set right. Attached is a pic

You can see it in your picture, your plotter is set for course-up rather than head-up. Press the center button to switch to h-up.

has anyone else had this problem with the Ray Marine C120, Plotter in the pic is set to Course up and the Radar is set to the same as seem on the bottom , I think.

I have the syn on the plotter but i am still getting this screen, now however its off by about 90 degrees.

Do you have a heading sensor or electronic compass connected to your system? If not you won't align properly. The new ray marine update actually disables radar overlay if you do not have a heading sensor.

It was working before the batteries died and not working after? Your heading sensor needs to be re-callibrated. The process for this is in your manual.

Just what Sea Gull said, you lost the memory in the heading sensor and need to recalibrate. Read your manual and it will tell you to do slow circles to calibrate. Your heading sensor also gives your auto pilot heading information (it is possible to have a heading sensor without having auto pilot).

Thanks - I read that in the manual and saw the instructions. I will give that a try as soon as i can get back on the lake and provide an update.

One thing that I'm not convinced regarding dead batteries being the cause is that it would mean that the issue should be in place every single spring when you reconnect the batteries after the winter.

i was thinking the same thing about the spring start up. It might have something to do with how the batteries went dead. The connection for the shore power cable to the boat was tugged off due to wind and the boat moving around, so there might have been another electrical event.

I would just repeat all the setup steps from the C120 manual and see what the results are (I would undo it all and then start from scratch). Mine is set NOT to be in sync, just b/c I like having different scale on the radar vs. the plotter (I split the screens). However, I use overlay as well.
