Racine Boat Show

It's pretty good. Since it's in water, they bring in some of the bigger boats that they can't get into the venues during the winter shows. I've got a couple extra tickets for anyone that wants them. Since we slip at Reefpoint they give up 4 free tickets every year and I only need two of them. Drop me a message and they're yours

I've gone to the show for for 18 straight years. The boats are OK. There used to be three tents full of vendors selling everything and anything to do with boating. No more. If you have to choose go to Michigan City next week. Bigger and better.

We are going to give it a shot, Don't know if it will be Sat or Sun.
We want to look at some different manufactures and see what they have to offer. But it sure is hard to get away from a SeaRay

The boats were OK. The tent vendors, for the most part, took a pass. There was one tent about half rented. The attendance was so poor that on Main Street schills passed out free tickets on Sunday.
I felt sorry for all the blue shirted Sea Ray sales people sweating it out for four very hot days.

We went to Racine, ditto on the vendor tents. This show shur seems to be droppong off. I noticed in passed years they started adding consinment boats to the gig. This year even had more consignm, ent boats then ever. Less new shinny fiberglass.
Let us know how the Michigan City show is I'm definatly interested in that one.

If you want to buy a yacht club you could buy the MC yacht club building. There is a for sale sign at the door. I was told they went belly up. Oh well.

It was an OK show. Many of the tent vendors returned this year. Not all but lots. There were a good number of boats. I weigh my opinion heavily on the tent vendors offerings. So I have to say the show was 10 times better than the Racine venue. Always nice to see familiar faces- Mrs. Wolf selling a wide selection of shoes and taking orders for the few she didn't have right to hand.

The offering of a 2004(+ or -) Carver 39 aft with gas was interesting. The ask was higher than the sale price when new.

I am a sucker or the shows if only to say hello to so many people I've seen over the years.
