Hello,

I feel very happy that we found a new home, and I don't think that we should look back too long.

But now that Jeremy arrived maybe he can help us with some questions that some former SRO guys have.

I hope that with these questions we can go further.

I hope that Jeremy is willing to answer these questions, and that the questions are not :smt013 <-

Question from me:

- Is it possible that the SRO history data can be used on this site.

Thanks.

Peter

I would never presume to speak for Jeremy, but he is away this weekend and I know the answer to this one.

When SRO was started, Jeremy committed to keep any personal information collected as a part of registration or that appeared on the site as confidential. Over the 2 + years of operation members exchanged email addresses, phone numbers, occupations, exact locations for boat slips and storage, and other personal information in regular posts on the forum. Unfortunately, the data cannot be shared without revealing that information. To purge the personal data would require that someone invest the time to read every post to insure that the personal data was purged. Jeremy will not release the data and he does not have the time to re-read e very post to eliminate the information he committed to keeping private.

Ok thanks Frank for answering this question while Jeremy is away; I understand this private situation stuff.

But maybe there are some interesting topics that he can copy the text without private info and place it here (if this is allowed on this forum and the owner)

I saw Frank that you yourself (if I don't got it wrong) copied some text in a reply. (Topic about ride of 39 EC)

On this way we build up again a lot of history on this forum because I think that some off the former SRO guys does not asks some questions again here.

But ok it's only a idea from me, it is not a must at all!!.

I started writing this topic, because I was surprised when Jeremy joined us nobody was asking questions about SRO.
I remember that I was a little disappointed for example that we where not warned that Jeremy was planning to stop SRO.
But now I know why.... Because off the private info then was copied....:smt009

And maybe some other members have still questions.....

Peter, maybe you missed this posting that I made on October 10, 2006:

this is the first posting in reference to Jeremy. I can understand your posting of this question and I am sure you have read the other sites which I am not going to mention but we have all moved on. We are thankful to Jim for hosting this site. I am personally thankful to Jeremy for hosting the SRO site for three years. It has been posted on the other sites that Jeremy decided to close the site and that it had nothing to do with Sea Ray or Brunswick. We are accepting this and moving on. I hope that "ALL" can respect this and move on. I for one do not feel like moderating pages after pages of speculations about why it closed, why it did not close, how is was right or wrong, etc. If your question is in regards to refunds it is my understanding that all premier members are being refunded their portion of unused funds depending on which month they joined SRO. If you have any other specific questions that you do not feel like have been answered PM one of the members that you know were a Premier Member and ask them but this is not really the place to talk about the closing of SRO. Thanks

Wesley

I just do not want to see this site turn negative like the others; I hope you did not take my posting the wrong way; we just are gaining alot of growth here and do not want to see us take three steps back. Thanks for your understanding

Wesley

Ok Wesley,

I don't understand you the wrong way but the right way! Thanks!

Yes I missed your post on the 10th off October.

I only wanted the possitive things off SRO comes here...

It was because off the negative like the others that I came here, I joined almost on the same date that you did Wesley (look at PeterMvdb member name)

I respect and understand your point.

Case close

Sorry Peter.

Thanks Peter and everyone else for the way you guys are handling this on CSR...class acts

Wesley

By way of clarification, Peter, the post you referred to about 390EC's was copied, but it was copied from another place here on the CSR site. The original poster asked an off subject question in another unrelated topic. I asked the moderators to move it to the right spot to preserve the sites ability to search. They moved the question, but not my answer, so I copied and moved the answer then deleted the original post.

If the answer sounded familiar, it is becaise I probably wrote the one you remember on SRO. I keep a personal file when the answers are long.....I don't wnat to write all that information but once!

Hello Frank,

Yes I also have a personal file system.

I hope you did not take my posting the wrong way about the copy thing.

I indeed did remember the "style" and some text from SRO.

I can understand that in your "Master Sea Ray Enthusiast" status you also wanne get some sleep for 2 hours... haha.

See you.

Peter

Hey Frank,

Watch the photo...

That’s my proof that I did my copying on SRO :smt043

Sorry for the smiley I know you get a pain in the head from them haha.

Peter

Peter, take it as lessons learned. Assume that at any time, the owner of a website can pull it for any reason whatsoever and not forewarn anyone about it; no love lost. So, be sure to copy anything and everything from this public forum that you see fit...before only one person has the key to the locked door that contains a wealth of knowledge entered by the public, for the public.
