Questions about a few items

Well, I guess I can't change the topic. Live and learn.

You had better have a Captain show you how to operate this boat.

Hahaha! Good one dike...I mean, Mike.

I would suggest you suspend the joking name calling and get some help. That is what I did when I started boating. There are likely several members in your area that would likely mentor with you to get you up to speed fast. Or you could pretend you are superman, know it all, and be like so many idiots discussed in detail here.

Well Captain Monkey, 19 post's and NO boat. We will read about you in the news after the accident.
Understood. It was late. I was really excited about the whole deal and you really busted my bubble. I'm the first to admit I don't know everything, but your comment inferred I don't know anything. I have had boats before (albeit it's been a while) but certainly new to Sea Ray and cruisers. Look, I was oversensitive, overreacted and should have been more mature. Please accept my apology. I hope we can move on.

Excellent. Now we are back on track & we can "move on".
The circular things on your cabin ceiling are likely access points in the event you need to get to your bow rail mounting hardware.
So... Nice boat, nice pics & Welcome to CSR. The best source on the Internet for all things Sea Ray and boating in general.

Ah! Didn't think about the rail. Was thinking wiring or an option that this boat doesn't have.

By the way, if you had included "260DA"or "260 Sundancer" in your thread title then you would have drawn in the 260DA owners to answer the questions. Just a suggestion for the future, although I don't always make my thread titles descriptive enough myself.

Done. Wouldn't let me do it through tapatalk, but we're good now!

Edit: Never mind. Just changed the first post, not the thread. Oh well.

Took 'er out today. Boy, does this thing catch the wind...and she ain't the fastest horse on the track either. Knew that going in, but wow. Still moving forward. So many positives to outweigh the sacrifices.

So, we were cruising around 20mph at 3400 rpm. I think we were at 35 at WOT. 350 mag w/ Biii. That sound about right? I mean, we didn't have but a quarter tank of fuel and three people. Can comprehend what it would be like with 4-6 people on the boat, full fuel and fresh water.

The bottom is painted. Nothing really stands out as being crazy dirty. Honestly, there are 120 hrs on the boat. It's a 2005. I'm pretty sure the bottom paint, props, everything is original. Maybe just sluggish from being stuck in a garage for so long?

Yeah the 260da is definitely a sailboat. I had to get very comfortable with my throttle to get it docked in wind.

Hey man. Looked for you today when we were down at PWM. Question for ya, you have basically the same boat...what's your top speed and cruise? Also, when we were going in no wake, the boat would NOT track straight. It would go a little left, then a little right, then back again.

Yeah I was doing one of my other hobbies. So I want to say I can hit 35 WOT and cruise around 25 or so. No wake zone takes a bit of skill. We are going to be down there Aug 7-9. The yacht club is doing a raft up at three sisters in dc that weekend. Ping me and I can show you what I have learned so far.

Ok. So, I guess that's what we saw today. I'll get the survey done Friday in case anything is off.

The raft up sounds great. Not sure if we'll be able to make it though. That will likely be the first full weekend with the boat and I could us the practice - in less crowded spaces than a sanctioned raft up.
