Questions about a few items (2005 Sundancer 260, 260DA)

Put an offer in for a 2005 Sundancer 260. While I was there, I combed the boat for anything and everything. Came away with a few questions...

What are the circular things along the top of the cabin? It's at the top of the pic to the left of the tv.

Assuming this is a tv antenna. Will it do anything or will it pick up digital stations?

I think this is the screen to the mid cabin window. Can I replace the screen or is it not repairable and I need to buy a new one?

Any idea what this goes to? Looks like an access cover, but I didn't notice any missing.

So, on the engine compartment hatch, there are two holes. One is for the cockpit table which they plugged for some reason, but what is the other, red one?

I assume I can wash this black stuff off the back side of the carpet?

What's this "vent" for - starboard side bow near anchor locker?
IMAG1283.jpg

There are three batteries. Will they all three be charged when on shore or generator power?

I couldn't quite read this sticker. Is it possible it's factory and was never used? The generator only has 14hrs on it and I know the last 4 were from the shop.

Finally, the head compartment doesn't have a vent for heat or ac. Would that mean it was installed later? Anyone else have a vent in there head compartment?

Thanks!

So, another question...

Please identify these two parts; the first one is mounted to the transom between the water heater and the motor, and the second looks like a hydraulic pump (trim tabs maybe) on the starboard side of the engine behind the waste tank.

Thanks again!

dear goodness!

maybe?

is this an access panel to anything behind the helm seat?

Horn not a vent up foward trim tabs by water heater and out drive trim pump on starboard side behind poop tank that is the screen for mid cabin sliding window.

OK I see the pictures.

The silver "Vent" on the bow near the anchor locker, I believe is your horn. The sticker you couldn't read simply says "Do not turn on without WATER in the heater (Water Heater). As for the TV antenna I also think it will pickup digital but you will either need a digital TV or a digital converter box.

Good luck!

Very cool. Glad I finally fingered out the pics. Thanks guys. Can I repair the screen or do I have to replace?

By the way, she accepted the offer. Putting her in the water tomorrow to take her for a ride. Shop has some things to do, survey and trailer coming. WooHoo!

Regarding the carpet, the black stuff is what's left of the backing material that provided cushion and non-slip of the carpet. That era of backing has pretty much been replaced with a better wave backing by current marine carpeting suppliers (Snap-in Carpet, Corinthian Carpet). As you can see when it breaks off the carpet it also sticks to the non-skid gelcoat, and can be difficult to clean off. One option is to replace the carpet. Another option is to paint on a new backing, which some on here have done.

The red hole in the engine hatch is an access point so that you could reach in and remove the bolt holding the hatch to the lifting ram. This is so you'd have a means to lift the hatch should the electric hatch lifter not be working.

That chrome vent is the horn cover. The circles to the left of the TV look like ac vents.

According to the parts manual for this year boat that is an access panel. Open it up and see what you find.

By the way, if you had included "260DA"or "260 Sundancer" in your thread title then you would have drawn in the 260DA owners to answer the questions. Just a suggestion for the future, although I don't always make my thread titles descriptive enough myself.

The pump on the starboard side is your outdrive trim pump. The pump on the port side is for your trim tabs.

Honestly, I still don't know what DA stands for. Assuming dancer? Will make the change anyway. Thanks.
