Hello,

My husband and I are fairly new to boating and Searay. Last May we bought a 1984 Searay Sundancer 270. Anyone who is familiar with that age and model of Searay knows they have a wood paneled cabin interior.

Ours has unfortunately been cut up a bit and we would like to repair/replace what's damaged. But to do that I need to know if it's teak or what type of wood it is. Also, does anyone know of a place we can buy paneling to match?

Thank you so much for any help you can give us.

Suzette

teak veneers plywood. My boat is an 1988 so they are a lot alike. I used formica to break up all my veneer overload more like the 1989 boats.

My 340 cabin uses plywood that has simulated wood grain formica covering it. All of the trim is teak. The tahiti styled inserts in the cabinet doors are also simulated and fall apart over time in humid climates image.jpg

here is an example of how I chose to deal with the inserts..replaced them with glass tile in the cabinet doors. Dont know where you can find the plywood but the teak trim is around. Other choices are to use upholstery vinyl or wall carpet as belowimage.jpg
