I recently joined Club Sea Ray, I love this site! Everyone here is very helpful,I have learned a lot in the last couple of weeks. I am still getting used to my 225 Weekender. We purchased the boat used from a brokerage. Whenever we took delivery of the boat, the brokerage rep told me there were only two keys, one for the ignition and one for the cuddy cabin. Several calls after the fact, I can't get him to respond with extra keys, my mistake. Is there an easy way to get keys for my boat? I know this is probably an easy question, but since I didn't purchase from a dealer, I wanted to ask the group! Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm a locksmith and would be happy to help you. PM me with the numbers on both keys. One should be your ignition and should have a code like "PK###M or similar and the other is a Mobella key for the cabin and should have a 3 digit code.

Normally your parts store of the dealer can get them, but if they aren't helping let me know

I needed additional keys for mine and all I did was go to a dealer. There is a small letter stamped under the rubber cap on the ignition. Take the rubber thing off and get the letter... it's kinda hard to see. If you tell them the letter, they can sell you some keys. I got two for about $18 --- and they were the nice newer ones with black plastic instead of all metal like I had before. At least that was my experience.

Southco is the US contact for your Mobella keys and hardware

from the 3 digit # on your key you can order keys through her. If for some reason they don't sell direct (which is what I understood they'll do) let me know and I'll order them through my company, since I'm a locksmith, they'll sell to me- but this should work.

For your Perko ignition. That blank is a very common key, identical to many file cabinets. If you have your original key you can have any locksmith duplicate the keys. I don't recommend Home depot or "Warehouse" store key cutters. Their machines are not as accurate, which may wear out the wafers of the ign switch and leave you fighting starting your boat :smt013
if you don't have the keys - they can be cut by code if you find the code.

I had only one key when I bought (used) my 1995 175. It had a crack in it. I tried to get a copy made at Lowe's but the guy wouldn't do it for fear he'd break it in his machine.
I contacted my "local" Sea Ray dealer via email with the PK**** number on the key and they sent me a new one for $10.00.

Uhhh, but before I got the new one, the old one had broken off in the cylinder...way, way down deep. Todd tried to talk me through it, but no luck on my end. I ended up going to Boaters World and buying a new ignition switch, nearly identical to the one on my boat. And I was surprised when the new key number started with PK!! I guess I bought one from the same OEM. It was only around $17 and took me 15 minutes to swap out. Now I have two new ignition keys. :smt001
