Can someone tell me for certain if part number #8M0047215, which is the new replacement module, ONLY comes with the new style of both water inlet and outlet coming out the front (bow) end? Is it possible to get a unit of that number that is the same as the old style, with it having hoses on the front and back? Long story, but I paid to have mine replaced in January. Sadly I did not crawl in there and put eyes on it, nor ask fro the old part. Having more issues now, and when I look at it, it neither looks new, nor is it the kind with both hoses in front, as the Mercruiser bulletin indicates. Before I go express my displeasure with the fine folks at the repair establishment, I wanted clarification.

The way I understand it, is the changes were an anodized cover( no paint). Threaded plastic barb water fittings and a drain plug. If they changed the water fitting location, it would need different hoses. From a price standpoint why would they do that ? Not 100% sure.

What are your new issues ? If you paid for new, it should look it.

Hoses were always next to each other on a cf3. Difference is the fittings that they connected to. New ones use regular black plastic hose barbs and hoses use regular hose clamps.
As mentioned, new ones have a blue water drain plug and older versions do not.
