It used to be that when I switched a font or color or size, it would appear in the font/size/color AS I typed the reply. Now I'm getting BB codes or HTML-type layout and it doesn't show up until I click POST reply. Is there a way to turn that feature back on or is that a site parameter that changed here on CSR??

It's a bug, I mean feature. LOL!

LOL???!!! Who are you and what have you done with Frank C??? >:-(

Should I drag out that first post that I put here long long ago? Actually I think y'all said it was a fraud and it was deleted. Feh. That was some good...

Tell me who you were docked next to in AC last summer and I'll know it's REALLY you.

Mike and Josephine, I think. I remember talking cooking with her while floating in the water.

Html works. A big html user is Four Suns. Many of his messages have secret messages written in white font. You just have to highlight the whole message to see it. Or quote him in your reply, in which case the html is removed and all of the font is black.

That's not HTML. That's BBcode which is boring caca. HTML code looks like this <p>new paragraph</p> and it lets you do fun stuff like <script src="http://www.searaysociety.com/whirlyGigs.js"></script>

The real answer to Ron's quests is to click the funny looking A in the upper right corner of the grey box that surrounds the text entry box. It's the switch editor mode icon.

That'll be five cents, please.

Just send your Visa, Mastercard, or American Express and we'll take care of the rest.

Thank you.

Ron, it's time that you get rid of Cracker Jack box browser and get something that doesn't suc... and get something decent. At least download and install Firefox. Geeze!

Frank, I can only hope to someday have 1/20 of the the brilliance that you have in your toenail clippings. Thanks to your sheer genius, I have figured out that the A appears in Firefox and Explorer, both of which I have but do not use. It does NOT appear in Chrome.

SO for anyone else using Google Chrome, let me answer my own question in ONE post rather than the pile of manure in the 10+ posts above.

"Try switching browsers. Not all will allow you to access the Switch Editor Mode."

It's Javascript. Not every browser supports Javascript completely or properly. Also, different browsers implement js differently with different feature sets. I have not looked at the forum's software to see if it's a bug that affects some browsers or the developer took advantage of some feature that's not available on chrome. I can do so if you'd like. Standard consulting rates apply. Cash retainer required.

Anyway, switch browsers is entirely appropriate because it's likely a chrome issue.

Not necessary. Not my website nor do I think Jim is worried about Chrome and the "A" in the upper right corner. I'll either use Firefox or suck it up and deal with it.
